FHP locates vehicle suspected in fatal hit-and-run

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol have located a vehicle suspected in a deadly hit-and-run incident in Kissimmee.  They continue to search for the driver who struck a woman as she was crossing U.S. Hwy 192, and left her to die.

The incident happened Thursday night on near Vineland Road, and according to FHP, parts left at the scene of the crash led them to believe that the vehicle involved was a new model, metallic, white or pearl, Nissan SUV.

Troopers responded to a home in Kissimmee after the owner of a white, 2012 Nissan Murano, contacted FHP to tell them that his vehicle had been damaged in a crash.

"Troopers responded to the residence in Kissimmee and determined that this vehicle is the car troopers were looking for," said FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes. "The damage is consistent with a crash involving a pedestrian and with the parts that were left at the scene."

The victim has been identified as a 62-year-old Amelia Suba Nucum.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423TIPS (8477), or the FHP at 407-737-2213.
