Family seeks justice after fatal shooting in Orlando

- An Orlando man lost his life in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven over the weekend and the killer remains on the run.

24-year-old Edgar Grant Jr. was gunned down in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on West Colonial Drive at around 1 a.m. Sunday. Junior was one of 7 siblings  as the family is now left devastated by this crime.

"The gun violence has to stop," Edgar's sister Tina Nugent said. "There's bullets with no names and that's not fair to the people who lose their lives."

The family is pleading to hear from anyone with any information to help solve this case. "Please just come forward, let people know, you can be anonymous," Nugent said. "You're doing the right thing. No one should have the power to take anybody's life. No one."
As of Wednesday the family still had not told the victim's 4-year-old son about their father's murder. "No one should have to grow up without a dad that's not there for their child," said the son's mother Amanda Lopez. "But to not be able to be there for your child, that's the worst part."
The family's hope is that "little Eddie" is old enough to remember how much his father loved him. "I hope he remembers that his dad really played a big part of his personality, and probably who he's going to be for the rest of his life," Lopez said.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office has no suspects in this case. They are asking anyone with information on this murder to call CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.
