Family of woman found dead seeks answers

Deputies found Tashaun Jackson’s body off Deer Park Road on the line between Brevard and Osceola counties.

Her aunt, Keisha Milledge, said the family is devastated.

“We're hurt, we're confused,” she said, “the pain we have right now is very unbearable.”

Jackson was reported missing Sunday, the same day an extensive search began.

Evidence led Brevard detectives to call for an aerial search over the area where they spotted Jackson's body.

Her family told detectives the last time they saw her was when she stepped out to go to the store on Sunday.

“She was happy that day. We usually meet, her and my mom, and have a good time away from the family. We were going to do something this weekend and never got the chance to,” Milledge said.

Police didn’t give specifics about Jackson’s body, or how she died.

“We have crime scene technicians out here from the Cocoa Police Department, Brevard County Sheriff's Office and Osceola County Sheriff's Office assisting us,” said Yvonne Martinez from Cocoa Police. “They're doing their best to document the scene, collect whatever evidence was left behind and move forward with the investigation to find whoever is responsible.”

Milledge said Jackson's children are hardest hit by her death, especially her oldest daughter.

“Reality has set in,” she said, “but it hasn't set in with her yet."

Now, Milledge said they want justice.

“Now we have the hashtag #Justicefortashaun. We're not gonna stop til we solve this case."
