Apartment complex locked down due to Facebook Live video

Orange County deputies blocked off an apartment complex and launched a large scale investigation, Sunday, after they were contacted about a Facebook Live video.

“The male had a long gun and the female had a knife, and the video was apparently being shot by the female,” said Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeff Williamson. “At some point he grabs an infant child, and her in his arms while in the process of pointing this gun at the ground and then back at the female.”

Investigators say the woman, infant and another child all got out of the apartment safely, but deputies didn’t know where the boyfriend was so they locked down the apartment complex off Texas Avenue, near Americana Boulevard.

The SWAT team was also called.

Some residents were evacuated from their homes, while others weren’t allowed to return for hours.

“With my kids waiting inside - one is a teenager, one is still 7 years old, you can’t help but wonder what’s going on in there,” said resident Lucina Dagostin.

Deputies ended up taking the yellow tape down at around 7 p.m., but not because they found the man.

They say the woman involved told investigators she never felt threatened and he never really pointed the gun at her.

Before deputies found they men, they say they called off the search because they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him.

The names of the man and woman involved have not been released.
