Demand for 'Hamilton' tickets crashed box office website at Dr. Phillips Center

- Demand for the blockbuster musical 'Hamilton' was so great, users crashed the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Center box office website when tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Turns out, the surest way to see the show was to conduct business in person.

About 300 people were in line at the venue when sales began.

Al Borerro, of Orlando, was the first in line.

He started waiting on the sidewalk at 9 p.m. on Thursday to buy a Christmas gift for his 14-year-old daughter.

“When I found out the show was coming to Orlando, I was like I’ve got to sleep out!” Borerro said.

Hamilton will be at the Dr. Phillips Center for about three weeks in January and February.

Performances start Jan. 22 and end on Feb. 10.
