Fires break over Central Florida, DeLand still facing one

Several brush fires have broken out over the weekend.

The biggest of those fires is in Volusia County. As of early Monday morning, the fire was still only 50% contained.

No homes are in danger, but residents are wondering if it is time to pack up. Acres of trees and forest have been near these homes on Gasoline Road in DeLand.

DeLand is not the only spot dealing with fire over the weekend, though.

In Brevard, a grass fire scorched several acres near a landfill. Thankfully no homes were in danger there.

There was also a brush fire in Orange County that threatened a warehouse near Orange Blossom Trial and Rose Avenue.

Florida Fire Service wants to remind everyone of the fire risk. In Orange and Brevard County, the risk is high, while in Seminole County, the risk is very high.
