5 suspects arrested in police standoff at Ormond Beach

- A standoff in Ormond Beach is over with 5 people under arrest.  This happened at a home on Granada Boulevard Friday morning. 

Police say it all started around 4 a.m. with an armed robbery of a person in Daytona Beach before the incident transitioned to a home in Ormond Beach. 

Police say the standoff ended peacefully and everyone involved is in custody. 

On Friday afternoon the Volusia County Sheriff's Office released the following press release:

"The Ormond Beach Police assisted the Daytona Beach Police Department by looking for a gray 4 door Dodge passenger car involved in a robbery. The vehicle was located and subsequently stopped at 175 W. Granada Boulevard.

The vehicle was occupied by 5 suspects. Four of the suspects immediately complied and were arrested. The last subject refused to exit the vehicle. Daytona Beach SWAT and VCSO Deputies responded to the scene to assist.

After approximately four hours, the last suspect exited the vehicle and surrendered. All suspects were turned over to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

During this incident, east and west bound traffic on Granada was diverted around the perimeter of the traffic stop. "
