ORLANDO, Fla. - The eastbound lanes of S.R. 408 reopened around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning after being shut down for hours because of a deadly crash.
The crash happened around 4:25 a.m. Monday morning.
FHP says that a 2003 GMC Envoy was traveling eastbound on S.R. 408 with three people inside.
For some reason the driver of the Envoy lost control and hit the guardrail on the passenger side.
The two passengers inside the Envoy were thrown from the vehicle.
The Envoy eventually veered toward the inside shoulder and stopped at the guardrail.
The driver was briefly trapped inside the vehicle but has since been taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers are at the hospital to talk to the driver to determine what happened.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and confirms that at least one of the passengers is dead.
No identities have been released.
