ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says that at least 50 deputies were required to calm down an angry crowd at an apartment complex on Monday night.
Deputies say that the disturbance started around 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Lake Weston Point Apartments.
Officials say car burglaries have been a problem in the area.
Deputies tell us that Monday night they spotted a teen breaking into a car, and tried to arrest him.
That teen’s parents confronted the deputies about it, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says that a crowd started to gather and started pushing officials.
In the chaos, deputies say the burglary suspect got away.
Two people were arrested for pushing officials.
A helicopter was called into look for the burglary suspect, but he has not been found.
Officials say no one was hurt in the disturbance.
Deputies say they’ll be knocking on people’s doors over the next few days to find the escaped car burglar.
