A 2-month old is back with her mother after being kidnapped from her south Florida home leading to an Amber Alert over the weekend.
The Sun Sentinel reports baby Taraji was discharged from Arnold Palmer Hospital Sunday night and was reunited with her mother.
23-year-old Stephanie Augustin and her 14-year-old cousin are being charged with numerous felonies including kidnapping and aggravated child abuse with a deadly weapon. They're being held without bond.
Police say on Friday the two took Taraji Kemp from a Fort Lauderdale home at gunpoint. Her disappearance sparked an Amber Alert on Saturday. Later that day investigators found the 2-month-old baby girl in an apartment complex on North Lake Parkway where police say Augustin lived.
Investigators say the baby was still strapped in her car seat and did not have any visible injuries, but she was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital as a precaution.
Parents from around Orange County that spoke with FOX35 say they are relieved the baby is okay. "I'm glad they found the baby because in situations like this they don't find the kid," said local area parent Ashley Wiggins.
Augustin was arrested after troopers pulled over her car on the turnpike in Okeechobee County. The 23-year-old is also cousins with baby Taraji's mother.
