Performing arts center announces $2 million in corporate donations

- The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday announced two corporate donations totaling $2 million.

The money will go towards the completion of Phase 2 of the performing arts center that opened in November 2014. Phase 2 adds a 1,700-seat acoustic theater to the two existing theaters which rely on amplified sound.
It will be home to the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ravago Americas and Tupperware Brands will each contribute $1 million on top of previous gifts.  “We hope to inspire the other companies who live, work and play here in Central Florida to support the arts center,” said Ron Nardozzi, EVP & Chief Financial Officer of Ravago Americas.   The performing arts center still has $35 million in donations to raise in order to break ground on Phase 2.  The goal is to break ground in 2016.  

Dr. Phillips Center President and CEO Kathy Ramsberger  that in order to break ground in 2016, the additional $35 million needs to be raised by January.
