DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A teenage girl said she was walking in the 1200 block of Hillcrest Drive in Daytona Beach on Friday night, when a man pulled up in a blue Jaguar and attempted to lure her into the car.
Zaporha Steward, 14, said she froze when the pulled up next to her. "He was telling me to come here, and telling me where I'm going and stuff. I just shook my head no." Steward said the man leaned out the window as he talked to her. "I just thought, I'm right here at the stop sign, and there's a bunch of people in the street that can see me," she said. "The smart thing to do was to scream so that's what I did. So I guess he got scared and he speeded off."
Steward's boyfriend, Zayvion, was right around the corner playing basketball with friends and heard the commotion. "She screamed my name when she got around the corner! She told me someone in a blue Jaguar tried to lure her."
The suspect is described as dark-skinned man, between 30 and 40 years in age, stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weights approximately 180 pounds. If you have any information call Daytona Beach Police.
