"Virus" graffiti spreading across Clermont

A virus is spreading all over Clermont, and investigators want to know who started it.

The word "virus" is being spray-painted on walls, billboards, bridges and more.

"To my knowledge, we haven't heard of a virus gang, so it's looking like its graffiti," said Kris Kruse, of Clermont police.

"I don't care if some people think it's pretty. That's not the issue. It's illegal and it's a nasty habit," said Hal Matte, a Clermont resident

Police estimate the damage is around $800 to $1,000 at each location.

Police say some of the bigger graffiti displays have already been painted over.

In the meantime, police are out looking for the suspected artist, or artists.
