WATCH: Pediatrician reveals magic touch to soothe crying baby

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The perfect solution to a crying infant is every parents dream.

One doctor claims he has a technique that can quiet any baby.

In a 4-minute video, Dr. Robert C. Hamilton, of Santa Monica, California, demonstrates his technique that he claims works every time.

Dr. Hamilton says the ‘The Hold’ works best on babies two-to-three-months old.  After that, they get a little too heavy to hold in the proper position.

To do the hold:

  1. Fold the baby’s arms across its chest
  2. Gently secure the baby’s arms with one hand
  3. With your dominant hand, grasp the baby’s bottom
  4. Gently rock the baby at a 45-degree angle.
