(WOFL) - A state health official is backtracking on the South Florida Zika mystery.
The spokesperson now says a woman feared to have gotten the virus from a local mosquito may have been infected during sex or travel after-all. An earlier email had ruled those options out. All of the other cases involved traveling to Latin America or intercourse with someone who had visited there.
The state now says some of the blood and urine samples from people the Miami-area patient has been in contact with have not finished testing.
So far, none of the mosquitoes captured in Florida have tested positive for the virus.
