Presidential Scholar from Oviedo High School

There are some serious bragging rights belonging to one Oviedo High School student. David Zuluaga has been named a 2016 Presidential scholar.

Zuluaga is one of 160 high school seniors across the country to be honored. Soon David and his mother will go to Washington D.C. to accept his award and meet President Barack Obama.

David's mother says she could not be more proud. "This means a lot to me as a single momma," Angela Zuluaga said. "I've been working so hard to support him and this is too much for me. He's giving me back as a response to all my sacrifices. I'm so happy."

On Good Day Orlando Thursday Zuluaga answered what it meant to receive the award, where he's planning on going to college, and how he's excited to meet the President.
At the end of the interview Zuluaga provided an inspirational, as well as impressive quote saying, "the American dream is still very real and possible for anyone willing to put the work in."
