OpenTable study says dining alone is a new trend

- Dining alone can be a scary thought for some, but the phrase “table for one” is becoming more common these days.

According to a restaurant site called “Open-Table”, reservations for one person have risen to 62% in the past two years.

Experts say many people are choosing to eat alone because it allows them to enjoy the food and ambiance more. They also say some people would rather eat with their smartphones, instead of enjoying the company of another person.

The site complied which cities have the most people who prefer to eat alone. The top three were Dallas, Miami, and Denver.
