ORLANDO, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - An Orlando Police officer found a way to connect with the youth in his city. When Lieutenant Brian Donahue saw kids playing basketball he decided to join them.
Donahue was patrolling in an unmarked car when he saw some kids playing hoops. When he got out of the car one of the kids threw him the ball.
Eventually several kids were out playing with the officer. Donahue says he did this to build relationships with kids in the neighborhood.
Lieutenant Donahue has been on the force for 17 years and he says no matter what, he is going to be there to protect his community and these kids.
