A new high-rise in Miami will have a feature straight out of "The Jetsons": a sky port for residents to park their flying cars.

The Paramount Miami World Center is currently under construction, but is already thinking ahead to the future.

"Ever since the Jetsons came out, America's been talking about flying cars," said CEO and developer Daniel Kodsi. "And, so it's something that inspires you; something that you think about when you're building a project, you're saying, 'Well, what is the future? What's going to happen in the future?'"

The 60-story residential apartment building will have over 500 units, with over two dozen penthouses.

"You can actually come to your home, land on the roof, and instead of coming in through the lobby on the ground floor, you can access your home from the roof," Kodsi said.

Even though flying cars aren't a reality of everyday life just yet, Kodsi says the crowded roadways down below have developers seeing a flying future on the horizon.

"We said, 'What an opportunity to convert our sky deck into some type of Jetsons sky port where you can actually land passenger drones?'" And this technology exists today," he explained.

WSVN reports the building's construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
