Montgomery County police say a driver crashed their car on purpose into the front window of the The Jewelry Exchange store on Georgetown Road in Bethesda as part of a burglary.

According to police, it happened at around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday when a black Mercedes Benz E350 stolen from Prince George's County backed through the front glass window of the store setting off an alarm that alerted authorities.

Surveillance video from inside the store showed two suspects getting out of the vehicle and smashing two of the display cases to steal merchandise from the store. Police say the suspects fled on foot after being inside the store for less than 30 seconds.

Detectives believe there may have been a third suspect waiting in a car nearby, police said.
