Netflix reportedly working on 'Gilmore Girls' reboot

 

Variety is reporting that Netflix is close to finalizing plans with Warner Bros. for a reboot of the popular television series Gilmore Girls, as four 90-minute movies, rather than a series.  Most of the original cast members are rumored to return, with show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, execeutive producer Daniel Palladino helming the project.

The show follows single mother Lorelai Gilmore, portrayed by Lauren Graham, and daughter Rory, portrayed by Alexis Bledel, living in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut.   Gilmore Girls launched in 2000 and ran for seven season, beginning on the now defunct WB network and jumping to the CW network when the WB and UPN merged into the new channel in 2006.
