Amy Kaufeldt came to Central Florida in 2003 after spending time in just about every corner of the country. Amy is originally from the small town of Delaware, Ohio, north of Columbus. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio before venturing out into the real world.
Amy began her career on the assignment desk at WKEF in Dayton, Ohio before taking an anchoring position at KFBB-TV in Great Falls, Montana. She also spent three years as a main anchor at WJHL in Johnson City, Tennessee. Then, was on the road again, this time to NBC affiliate KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Amy's first love is her family and the two little girls she shares with her husband Brian. Her second love is journalism. She's had the privilege of interviewing some pretty interesting people over the years, including Joe Montana, Garth Brooks, Jay Leno and most recently President Barack Obama.
She's also a big believer in the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters. She mentored two "little sisters" in the school-based program over the years before becoming a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida in 2004.
A fun fact about Amy, she once hiked the Grand Canyon from top to bottom and back up again in one day on the Kaibab Trail.
